SGI Tezro
The Tezro was a powerhouse for its era: up to 4 MIPS R16000 CPUs, up to 8 GB DDR RAM (in the tower configuration), and high-performance VPro graphics (often V12). It ran the IRIX Unix-based operating system and was widely used in film VFX, 3D animation, scientific visualization, and CAD/CAM applications. It served as the successor to the popular Octane/Octane2 series before SGI shifted away from MIPS-based systems. The Tezro’s bold industrial design and glowing logo made it a recognizable symbol of high-end CGI and supercomputing workstations in the early 2000s.
